I was unable to find samples of Bob Dylan's Someday Baby (alt version) and Duncan and Brady, both off of Tell Tale Signs: Bootleg Series, Vol. 8; Redeye's Stumble, and Teddy Thompson's cover of Leonard Cohen's The Future.

So you do have some African music - well sort of Akon is Senegalese. So here are the artists I listen to while I am running. I would recommend anything by these guys but if you want specifics I can do that too.
1) Youssou N'Dour
2) Baaba Maal especially anything on Djam Leelii
3) Thione Seck - anything on Orientation
4) Orchestra Baobab - anything on Made in Dakar
5) Positive Black Soul - anything on Run Cool
6) Toumani Diabate - anything on Boulevard de l'independance
Most of these guys are senegalese and malian. I would recommend anything from South Africa too like Johnny Clegg and Savuka or Johnny Clegg and Jaluka.
And of course there is reggae on my m3p player as well
1) Steele Pulse
2) Morgan Heritage especially from the CD's More Teachings (my personal favorite) and Don't Haffi Dread
I also listen to stuff in English like Pink, Tom Waits, Ani DiFranco, Amy Winehouse, Til Tuesday, Aimmee Mann, Greg Brown, Van Morrison. I love everything and I like a mix when I run, so I keep it on shuffle and let the music take me wherever it wants to.
Oh and one more CD I love running to is Lamberena. It's a mix of Bach and African music, it's amazing seriously check it out, you can get it on Amazon.com.
I can get more specific if you need me to just ask.
